RECYCLE ME BABE

DESIGN BRIEF:

Develop a response that addresses a specific value chain within the Make it Circular Challenge.

Electronic rubbish is growing 3 times faster than any other waste system. With the rise in the use of e-cigarettes and vapes, many consumers are unknowingly contributing to Australia’s e-waste crisis.

Concept Statement

Eyes On Me is a virtual reality experience a part of the Recycle Me Babe movement that tells an important story of the effects of e-waste, particularly vapes and e-cigarettes, on the environment. Through this immersive experience, we hope to educate and spread awareness about society’s e-waste crisis. Ultimately prompting society to become further engaged in our other products, in an attempt to create a positive impact on the environment. Spot our QR code on our mural, Check Me Out, and use your phone to immerse yourself in the world of Recycle Me Babe.

Eyes On Me engages users to go through a virtual process of recycling e-waste in an attempt to leave an impression on our audience to participate in this process in real life. The immersive experience involves a series of facts and statistics to educate users about their e-waste impacts on the environment, presented through a cheeky dialogue conversation. Eyes On Me further aims to direct users to become more involved in the Recycle Me Babe ecosystem, by providing links to our app and promotional material. Increased user engagement should assist Recycle Me Babe in achieving our mission.

DEVELOPMENT PROCESS KEY INSIGHTS

Research

Drawing on inspiration from existing campaigns allowed me to refine the kind of approach I wanted to take within my own deisgn. I was provided with the oportunity to investigate some of my favourite campaigns, partiuclarly the Binance x The Weeknd gameplay experience.

Ideation

I took opportunitites to continually refine my ideation process within this project. Ultimately the user journey was the most important part of the project as it had to be functional, yet entertaining through the power of storytelling.

Prototyping

I was pushed to explore the cabailities of Adobe Areo within this project. Prototyping served as a tool to experiment with many features that I had yet to test. I felt I was mainly focused on procuding something visually appealing within this stage as I had refined the function of the design through storytelling.
